Do you find bulletproof glass films useful?

I now have the Huawei P30 Pro what Gorilla Glass 6 has, I wonder if it is still necessary to buy a bulletproof glass film, as I have often heard that they can splinter ugly. Do they leave any residue? It should also be noted that I have a leather case for what you can close.
