Charging cable does not seem to load properly?

My Huawei P7 Lite charging cable seems to be defective, because even though the LED lamp that lights up charging lights up, the phone hardly charges, so it takes forever to load it from 10% to 100%. Is it a fault on the charging cable or in the mobile phone connection?
