My sister has a P30 Lite from Huawei. She just got a message there about an update, but that didn't look like the normal official software updates. She did it anyway and was asked for her SIM card number. In addition, when the device started up, the same start screen came up as when the device was first used, but your data and settings are still there. Is that normal?
I used to have a P30 and I only needed the normal PIN. In addition, I can't find any information about an update in your settings, could it have been a virus or something?
When the mobile phone starts (which it usually does after an update), the SIM card must be unlocked using a pin. This is completely normal if this lock has not been switched off.
Hi, thanks for your reply. The cell phone didn't want the PIN at all, just the SIM card number. That doesn't seem normal to me - I've had the same number for 15 years and was only asked for the PIN
Which SIM card number? What is that supposed to be?
It is on the SIM card or in the papers and has 8 digits. Used to identify the card
I didn't know Huawei, but I'd never heard a cell phone ask for a SIM card number. The SIM card is always on the SIM card.
Do you think it's possible that this is some kind of virus or something? I had several Huawei devices and that's absolutely not normal.
I have never come across a device on any device that you have to enter it somewhere. Use 2 Huawei devices yourself and that hasn't existed yet. Very suspicious.
I've never had viruses because I only use Apple products.
