May one use Magisk Root | Install system updates from manufacturer?
I mean it does not interfere with the system.
One more question: Is magisk recommended for a relatively new mobile? (Android: Pie | Huawei | Mate 20 Lite)
To root your phone you need to unlock the bootloader, which costs money since Huawei will not allow it anymore.
If you have unlocked the bootloader, your warranty is gone.
Your decision…
As mentioned earlier, root and custom roms are no longer a big issue for Huwei / Honor devices.
With OnePlus you can still install system updates despite Magisk / root. But then there are no incremental updates anymore. It is then always the OS with about 1.6 GB downloaded and installed. Otherwise it would only be a few hundred MB. With this, OnePlus ensures that all necessary files are available.
After an update then Magisk and remaining modifications must be re-established.
The root with a new device depends on the manufacturer. Most then refuse the warranty. Depending on the manufacturer, you may not be able to prove that it was rooted.
If you care about root and Custom Roms, I recommend OnePlus. Roots do not invalidate the warranty and the community is also big on OnePlus devices.
If you should destroy your device with root, the warranty is of course obsolete.
It does not work on my HTC U12+, but I do not know if it's at (remote) root, at the wrong boot.img or the unlocked bootloader.
