I got up today and went to Whatsapp like every morning just this time I got this error message "Sorry, this media file does not exist in your internal memory" I did not think so but now I get it every time I open the app and to I get the same error message even if I go into the app on YouTube. (I have the Huawei Mate 20)
"Whatsapp"
It could be that if the internal memory is quite full and a possibly integrated memory manager is installed on the system, it may be that it has deleted some media files (images, videos, etc.) in order to free up memory for it.
Of course, what you can do with it is that you have some downloaded memory optimizer apps installed on your phone, such as: Clean Master, which always "tidy up" your device, freeing up memory and RAM, and then something like that might happen as well.
It's best to see if you can find something in your settings like "memory optimizer" or similar. And if not, check out if such apps as "Clean Master" are installed on your phone. If so, uninstall right away, they mess up and slow down the phone more than it does itself. The best alternative of my prospect: CCleaner for Android (Free).
"YouTube"
I can't really help you with that because I did not install YouTube. But seems to be the same as WhatsApp. Something was probably deleted as well.
I hope I could help a little.
Tip: For me in the strangest case, it could just be a mistake of Whatsapp. The best way to go with a file manager in the internal memory on the folder "WhatsApp" and then on "Media" and here everything is stored in other subfolders, because you can also manually look for the data. In the worst case: If such problems as described on your question, but always come back or even worse, I advise the "WhatsApp" folder times on a PC to secure, in order to prevent a total loss of data. In the worst case: The internal memory could be damaged (data loss can also be the result) and your smartphone could sometime not even tackle and work. Watch the best and if it gets worse, also save other things from internal memory on a PC and maybe get it sent and checked
