Would you buy a smartphone from Huawei after today's news?
I own one, but would not buy it after today. After all, there are not just any new Android updates, which does not bother me so much.
Much worse is with new devices coming on the market: There will be no Google services such as YouTube or the Playstore more, and that makes an Android smartphone completely useless. Does not mean technically that you can't install apps anymore, but still I would have as one who at least knows what you would do there, absolutely no desire on it. That also brings far too many disadvantages.
Personally, I would wait to see what the future holds and what happens next. However, Huawei was always a big hit with hardware in pretty much all tests, but the in-house software (EMUI) was criticized by almost everyone. They may be able to develop an operating system, but that will certainly not appeal to us in Germany. That may satisfy the Asian market, but not us. So I would wait and see what happens next. Currently I would probably buy but one more.
I would still buy the old Android as long as Huawei still buy.
Should another Bestriebssystem come then but not more.
Even before this not so nice message, the answer was already clear: I do not buy a Huawei / Honor smartphone. The EMUI software is not really good (to me) and freedom from Custom Roms and root is gone. The new news is a reason against that.
