Can you listen to music on one side with the Huawei Freebuds?

I thought about buying the Huawei freebuds 3i and then read a few reviews. There was something in every report that the music stops automatically when headphones are removed. But what if I only want to listen to music with one headphone and want to leave the other in the charging case. Then does that work?

I can't tell you exactly but with my Galaxy Buds (Samsung) the music stops on one and only if you take both out
