Huawei P20 Lite proximity sensor spins?

Since yesterday I have the problem that the proximity sensor spins from my cell phone, it is activated all the time, which means that when I'm on the phone I can't hang up and generally can't access my cell phone until the call from my "phone partner" ends becomes. The same is the case with voice messages, when I listen to a voice message my cell phone goes out immediately and I can only use it again when the voice message is over. I have been dealing with the topic on the Internet for 4 hours and am desperate, I tried to clean the sensor with cloths and glass cleaner, I also tried it with compressed air, unfortunately it did not work, I also tried to switch the sensor off, unfortunately this is not possible in the settings of my cell phone, only by so-called "rooting" from my cell phone I would be able to deactivate this sensor function, but then I read that it is very risky because rooting can completely destroy my software, I leave prefer that. I have a few cracks at the top of my display, can it be because of the cracks that the sensor is blocked?

Now we come to my questions:

Do you maybe know how to turn off / repair the sensor otherwise?

Or do I have to have my cell phone repaired in a "cell phone workshop"? Unfortunately I would not get away under 100 euro.

I thank you in advance!

So

No, unfortunately there's not much you can do.

My grandpa had the same problem and I believe that deactivating the sensor is not possible without root.

gu

If the cell phone falls exactly on this corner, the sensor may be broken, then switching it off might not work or if the crack goes over the sensor, then it may be that no light comes through, in which case it would really only be the glass that needs to be changed But you can also download an app and see if it still works with my old P8. For example, it is broken because I threw it in the corner, but the glass is still in order. It just does not automatically darken, but if there's a crack over it it may be that he recognizes it so that you hold the sensor or the same

We

The sensor always worked, despite the cracks, and suddenly no longer, what do you think I should do?

We

Okey thanks

So

You're welcome! Find out how to deactivate the sensor online

We

I have already downloaded an app that has tested whether it is activated or deactivated, according to the app it is continuously activated i.e. Apparently the sensor thinks that something is covering the sensor all the time. I mean on the whole it is not super bad, only when calling is it really kind of stupid.

gu

So the sensor only worked despite the crack, then try using a strong adhesive tape to tape it off and then pull it straight forward. A splinter can exert too much pressure on the sensor and it therefore doesn't work, so just try it lift the pane in the corner a little

Well, as written above, there may be too much pressure on it, or the disc may be a little crooked on the sensor, the holes are really tight and there's rubber around it that can hinder compressed

We

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. Then I have to have my cell phone repaired for good or bad, there are kits with which you can swap your own display, but I'm just too stupid for that, thank you anyway!

We

I can't lift the display. Or how do you mean that? I tried that with the tape.

gu

Where could you come from to change the display, but if you have a guarantee then you should have it done by a specialist because unfortunately I can't give you a guarantee because I'm not a trained company / shop

gu

Well, warm up a bit in the corner e.g. If you don't have a hot-air welding machine then it takes a little longer with the hair dryer but then the glue dissolves and then go into the gap with a little soft plastic and try to lift the display a little at the point

We

I live in BW near Freiburg. If replacing the display would not be so expensive for a professional, I would have done it long ago.

gu

Well, I usually exchange them cheaply from 10 euro for no name devices, 15 euro for huawei, sony and others and 20 euro for the disease samsung and iOS plus the spare part and here, however, shipping costs would still be due because I'm from forest lausitz, so the Spree Neisse circle

We

I would then have to send my cell phone to the right? Don't get me wrong but it's risky.

gu

Sure, because you don't know me

We

Exactly, I'll wait a little longer and re-hierarchize a bit whether you can somehow turn it off, because if it's turned off, the display can't go out.
