Is everything still possible to root Android?

I'm thinking of rooting my cell phone. I have a huawei p20 lite. I'm aware of the risk that, in the worst case, I can destroy my entire cell phone or, in an easier case, I can brick my system Now to my question, if I root the cell phone, I still have all the functions, i.e. I still have all the online access, my cell phone still recognizes the sim card, which then still works normally I have already jailbroken other devices nintendo 3ds psp playstation 2 etc. And know that 3ds then, for example, loses its online functions or the internet should be turned off, but is that also the case with the cell phone or is the system free and everything goes normally

You can no longer pay with it in the supermarket if it is rooted, I don't know any more disadvantages.
Hopefully you are using lineageOS

After rooting and setting up the phone, the phone works the same as before. I've been using my SGS 5Neo with root for 3 years.

I recommend you to use Magisk, as it also works with the banking apps that are otherwise blocked.
You can find a good and reliable description for your mobile phone in the https://forum.xda-developers.com/...t-t3773875.

It is also advised to make a complete backup of the data beforehand, as these will be deleted.

I also advise TWRP (which you have to look for exactly for your device!).

The banking apps also work with Magisk and you don't have to use a custom ROM when you root the phone!

I would never use a banking app on a cell phone that was rooted. Please use some common sense!

Would stay with lineageOS is more trustworthy.

Well, if you prefer to rely on "system protection", of course, I'll protect myself independently, but with much more than one

A bit of common sense

https://techlector.com/how-to-root-huawei-p20-lite-with-magisk/ is a direct guide with Magisk for your P20Lite

In fact, I'd rather rely on "System Protection" from clean android than from a rooted Android.

How much you "protect" yourself can be seen from the fact that you apparently use banking apps on rooted smartphones. So much for your "protection" (?)

Ph

Well, since I've been using a computer privately (now about 30 years) and using a smartphone (now about 10 years), I haven't had any viruses, malware or other malicious software on these devices. So successfully protected so far, right?

Has nothing to do with installing your banking app on a rooted device. This is about preventive security
