Huawei Mate 20 Pro does not turn on after swimming?

I'm pretty desperate because my Mate 20 Pro seems to have just given up the ghost. I was in the pool for 2 minutes with a friend of mine and have made underwater mode a short video underwater.

When I got out of the water, we even watched the video and everything still worked perfectly.

10 minutes later, when I wanted to look at my phone, the phone was completely off and did not read more. I have blown the phone and put it next to a radiator for a few hours. Even with the tricks Lauter-key + Power button pressed long, but the phone is still not on.

I plugged the phone into the charging cable and it started. However, I just saw the time big on the top right of the screen and nothing else. The screen is not damaged. However, the phone switched off after 5 minutes by itself.

I can turn on the Mate 20 Pro now for longer.

What should I do? The phone should be up to 1.5m and 30 minutes in the water, waterproof?

What happened?

I hope someone can help me, because I'm on vacation: /

So if it turns on if you plug in charging but it can't boot up properly then the battery is defective or still short circuit. But try your luck with rice.

I also had the experience that it was not anymore. I have then in all openings strongly reinpustet (usb-hole, headsetloch🤔), which has really worked, since the water is then dried faster. But had the Huawei P10, which was NOT waterproof. The mobile phone has only worked properly after 2 days. It seems to have to dry, if it does not work then I would fix it.

Either you have moved gaps (happened to drop from the carpet ect) or the chlorine has broken your phone. The IP standard refers to fresh water.

Even if it starts again when it is dry, the part rusts from the inside and would soon be in the bucket anyway (functions are gradually falling out).

If you take your mobile with you for swimming, it is your own fault.

Water damage. Scrap metal.

Just because it's supposed to be waterproof does not mean you can swim with it. It is for emergencies. But I'm surprised that it has a water mode, ask Huawei to replace it. Never do that stupid thing again

For being a community expert, your answer is pretty much unqualified.

Al

No.

A smartphone is not meant for swimming. How can you be so stupid.

But you can try that with yours even if it is waterproof. Can you still throw away.

Water damage to a cell phone is deadly.

I'm so unqualified… I've only been fixing phones for 15 years. Inc processors to solder.

But good to hear an opinion from a specialist.

No offense.

Ca

I meant as a community expert, one should justify his opinion and not just throw something
