It could be the battery that has given up the ghost.
Hardware damage likely, irreparable is not worth it.
Charging cable to it and leave device alone. At least 15 minutes should at least appear that the battery is charged. Then fully charged without interruption. Never disconnect the device from the power several times in quick succession.
Should the battery become bloated, unplug it immediately and dispose of the battery.
