The Huawei P20 Lite from 2019 has a 20MP main camera and a 24MP selfie camera
The Huawei P30 Lite from 2020 will have a 48MP main camera with 2 Wide Lenses and a Slefie camera with 24MP
MP stands for megapixels. The more megapixels the sharper the picture. The P30 Lite has a much better main camera.
But I mean the mate 20 lite?

There's no p smart + 2019, only a p smart 2019 without plus and that only has 3GB of RAM. Since you would be better off with the Mate 20 Lite.
But in the price range I would prefer to use the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite or Redmi Note 7. The former has the better camera, the latter the larger battery. Both are better in every way than the Mate 20 Lite.
Neither one of you would rather get something much better for your money from XIAOMI
