Huawei Freebuds 3 battery indicator on Emui 9.1?

I have ordered the Huawei Freebuds 3 but for now I have Emui 9.1 on my phone. I read that the battery indicator is not shown on Emui 9.1

Is that correct?

On my cell phone: Huawei P20 Pro with EMUI 9.1 the battery is shown in the Freebuds 3 app.

Sometimes this is also shown as a popup, which usually doesn't work. Or only once afterwards almost no longer shows. (So it is with my cell phone)
