Using a Huawei Smartwatch with a Samsung mobile phone?

I'm thinking of buying a smartwatch. My choice fell on the Huawei Watch Fit. However, I have a Galaxy Note 10+ and then I don't want to stand there with my new device in my hands and the two can't connect.

Hence the question, can you pair Huawei smartwatches with other Android phones, especially Samsung, and use them to their full functionality?

Of course I need the Huawei Health app on my device, but with Apple Watches it is also the case that not all functions work with Android.

That should work. I (the other way around) also got a GearFit Plus to work normally with a "non-Samsung phone" via the Health app.

I think the only one where deliberate compromises are actually Apple…
